Spring clean your draws & join celebrities Helen Mirren and Zoe Ball in Oxfam’s Big Bra Hunt Appeal.

Oxfam have launched an appeal for the nation’s unwanted bras. They’re aiming to collect 1 million during the month of April, and the Bra Lady team are helping!

Unwanted bras will be turned into cash by Oxfam for important projects around the world. They are asking for bras, any size, shape, well worn, or unworn. They will be sorted, and as with all their clothing, some will go to UK Oxfam shops for sale in this country. Others will go directly into textile recycling. The remainder of the donated bras will go to Oxfam’s project in Senegal where clothes are sorted and sold through their social enterprise Frip Ethique, creating jobs for women, and offering bras for women to wear which aren’t made in the country currently.

Bras are being collected by Oxfam through their shops, and donation boxes around the country. Our Bra Lady team are also happy to collect bras and get them to these collection points on your behalf if you don’t have one near you. They’re much better being used than sitting there reminding you they don’t fit anymore!

We’ll be adding up our own contribution over the month, but we hope you can support Oxfam, by getting rid of all those bras that don’t fit, for whatever reason! If you’re planning your own collection, and want a Bra Lady to come and talk to your group about bras, get in touch. We can collect your bags at your event and pass them on.

Please take your unwanted bras to your local Oxfam collection centre, or send to our office Unit 14, Coppull Enterprise Centre, Mill Lane, Coppull. Lancashire. PR7 5BW.

Happy hunting! 🙂
